Thomas Telford's magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal has been named as one of the alternative modes of transport that will be used during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. The Olympic Flame will travel over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on 30th May 2012 book a Canal Boat Holiday from Ellesmere and you be be lucky enough to witness this unique experience. On 3rd July the Olympic Torch will stop at the National Space Centre in Leicester as it passes through the county on its relay around the UK. On 2nd July, it will be carried from Market Harborough via Foxton to Leicester, where the torch will make an overnight stop. The flame will then be taken to the Space Centre before travelling through the Leicestershire countryside.
