People going on Canal Boat Holidays in Chester this summer may be interested to note that the line-up for the region's music festival has been announced, with established names and rising stars alike featuring in the bill.

Now in its 33rd year, the festival promises to be bigger and better than ever with artistic director Andrew Cornall putting together a programme of events to suit all ages and tastes.

At the heart of the event is choral music, with the Choir of King's College Cambridge booked to perform alongside the Tallis Scholars, while those enjoying Canal Boat Holidays in Chester may also be drawn to the European Union Chamber Orchestra, featuring Nicola Benedetti.

A cabaret evening will also be on the cards as the Penguin Cafe bring their own brand of music, in addition to an evening of the best local folk music and lunchtime concerts showcasing young talent.
