A fisherman has netted a rare canal carp from the Diglis in order to win an angling competition, those on Canal Boat Holidays in Worcestershire may be interested to discover.

Stuart Spencer brought in the fish and won the 20-peg Worcester and District United Anglers' Association open, the Worcester News reports.

He used chopped worm in the centre channel in order to take the prize and caught the four pound carp early in the competition, adding a 4lb 15oz 1dr perch to take the top prize.
