The number of foreign visitors planning to go on Canal Boat Holidays in the UK is set to rise due to the strong euro. Figures published by the BDRC Continental showed that the next 12 months will be a bumper period for travellers from overseas, with the number of trips of this type rising by 13 per cent year-on-year in the first nine months of 2009. Seven out of ten people asked said they were interested in booking a break in the UK, with nearly a third thinking the country is becoming more appealing. This is up from 25 per cent last year, with 39 per cent now giving Canal Boat Holidays and other breaks in the UK serious consideration as their main break. Those finding it hard to choose a destination for their break could go on a Canal Boat Holiday in Wiltshire, following the Times' recommendation that this offers a great and cheap summer break. |
