People on Canal Boat Holidays in Chester may find one of the bridges looks a little different the next time they pass through the area. Sutton Weaver bridge is currently the subject of much discussion, with local councillors planning how to restore it to its former glory while bringing it into the modern age. Built in the 1920s, the bridge has long been a part of the area and locals anticipate this will continue. Richard Nickson, Cheshire West and Chester Council's senior manager for Highways Network Strategy, said: 'We're looking forward to working with a range of partners to secure the future of the Sutton Weaver swing bridge. ' He revealed that a number of stakeholders would be involved to ensure the bridge continues to provide for the local area. British Waterways recently suggested a number of ways to spend this bank holiday, which included embarking on a trip to Anderton Boat Lift in Cheshire. |
