One village in the Cotswolds will be hosting a flower festival over the bank holiday weekend, it has been announced. Those on Canal Boat Holidays in the Cotswolds will find that Little Compton is holding a history-themed event in a bid to raise money for the church restoration appeal fund. It will take place in the St Denys Church on May 29th from 11:00 until 17:00 BST, the Cotswold Journal reports. Flower arrangements from the Moreton-in-Marsh Flower Club will be on display, while garden designer Chris Brown shall give a talk on the Glory of Spring on the Saturday evening. Vicar of St Denys Reverend Andrew Keith told the paper: 'Little Compton has long been associated with flowers, gardens and parks – the Manor has the smallest deer park in England – and we are happy to welcome Moreton Flower Club to our church this month. 'Meanwhile, the Chelsea Flower Show is currently drawing in the crowds, with this year's event seeing a record number of gold medal winners. |
