This summer will see a conference taking place to assess how important canals are to the lives of people in Wales. Jane Davidson, minister for the environment, sustainability and housing, will be delivering the keynote speech, with other big names also set to be on the bill. It will focus on how canals in Wales are currently operating and what needs to be done to improve them even further. This will include how water is essential to health and wellbeing and how the country can attract more people to Canal Boat Holidays in Wales. British Waterways' head of regeneration in Wales Andrew Stumpf said: 'How we use it, enjoy it and harness it to enhance people's lives today has never been more relevant and this conference will provide some valuable insight into how we develop this wonderful resource. 'It was recently revealed that the valve house controls at the Horseshoe Falls in Wales had been once again opened to the public due to high demand. |
