People enjoying Canal Boat Holidays in Wiltshire have been invited to sample a taste of some local ale, which was brewed especially to mark the 200-year anniversary of the Kennet & Avon Canal. The K&A 200, brewed by Wadworth & Co, will celebrate the waterway's bicentenary by returning to traditional methods to deliver the cask ale. It will be transported by a restored, horse-drawn British Waterways boat along the Kennet & Avon canal itself to its destination at the Bridge Inn at Horton - where people on Canal Boat Holidays in Wiltshire will no doubt be sampling the produce. 'Pubs and canals go hand in hand and we hope that when people taste the special cask ale it will transport them back to their memories of enjoying a drink next to this picturesque waterway,' said Michael Ancram MP, president of the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust. British Waterways recently petitioned those on Canal Boat Holidays in the UK to report check on the number of kingfishers in their area, which are believed to have been decimated by the harsh winter. |
