Lacock may see a rise in people on Canal Boat Holidays in Wiltshire, as the area has recently featured among the top searched-for destinations on TripAdvisor .

The review site revealed its top ten fastest-growing tourist destinations all over the country and this little-known village came out in the number one spot.

Spokesperson Emma O'Boyle commented: 'Brits are clearly rediscovering domestic travel and realise there's an awful lot to see on a weekend break without leaving the country.

'A number of big name productions have been shot in the area, including Pride and Prejudice, Emma and even scenes from the Harry Potter Films.

Its abbey is also perhaps one of the reasons people are keen to visit, TripAdvisor suggested.

In a recent media update, VisitEngland confirmed that the country's tourism industry is faring particularly well, even in spite of problems in the wider economy.
