The government will spend 110million pounds improving the quality of Englands waterways, the Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has announced. She said the money, which would be channelled through the Environment Agency, Natural England and various other charities, would help reduce pollution, tackle invasive weeds and remove redundant dams, weirs and landings.
