The National Trust has picked out a number of ideas for families on trips around the country to enjoy.

Hurrah for Half Term, running between February 13th to 21st at the Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate, could be the perfect place to take the kids while on a Canal Boat Holiday in Cheshire.

Among the activities on offer are being taught how to make paper lanterns for Chinese New Year and learning to spin and weave cloth.

'[You can also] tuck into some delicious food in the Mill restaurant - from warming soups to home-made cakes!' it suggests.

Those looking to spend some time alone with their other half could instead go on a Canal Boat Holiday in Wiltshire and visit Stourhead, which the National Trust recently suggested could be the perfect location for romance.
