There are a host of birds and water fowl that make the canals and the canal banks their home.

There is plenty you can do on your Narrowboat holiday to help to feed the birds.

You can buy wildbird food from the shops along the way.

Your galley scraps will be enjoyed by the birds, the robins love mild grated cheese and the ducks will love cooked potatoe.

If you have any left over fruit the blackbirds will love this.

To keep the birds warm aim for high enery foods bread is fine but it will not give them the strength they need.
