The Wildlife Trusts revealed that they sing well into June, so has put on a series of guided walks to ensure holidaymakers do not miss out. Failing that, people may want to try their luck by turning up at one of its locations up and down the country to see if they can spot the ever-dwindling species. Paul Wilkinson, head of Living Landscape at the Wildlife Trusts, commented: 'This secretive bird's song is of such high quality few other species can match. 'Close your eyes and be spellbound by the nightingale's call. Hearing it give its all is good for the soul!'
