A sick giant turtle that is considered sacred by many people in Vietnam has been captured so vets can treat it. The giant soft shell turtle is very rare and is one of only four known living members of the species. The turtle is thought to be more than 100 years old and is seen as a symbol of the countrys independence. The turtle has developed open sores on its neck and legs and no one is sure how it got its wounds. Some people think it may be from rubbish in the lake or it could be from fishing hooks or even other smaller turtles. Thousands of people gathered to watch the huge reptile get pulled out of the lake where it lives in Hanoi.
