24-03-2011 : SEQUEL TO CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG

James Bond author Ian Fleming also wrote the story of the magical car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

This famous vintage car is set to fly again with the publication of a new series of stories by writer Frank Cottrell Boyce.

The new story will be set in modern times and will centre around a family who discover an old racing car engine and use it in their VW camper van.

The originally book was brought to life in the 1968 musical directed by Ken Hughes and starred Dick Van Dyke as Caractacus Potts and Sally Ann Howes as Truly Scrumptious.

Boyce is a British children’s novelist and scriptwriter who has worked with movie directors including Michael Winterbottom and Danny Boyle.

If you are interested in vintage cars then a visit to the Coventry Motor Museum is a must and can be reached from our Canal Boat Holiday centre at Union Wharf.

If you visit Manchester from our Canal Boat Holiday centre in Anderton then go to the Museum of Science and Industry and travel back in time to when Rolls Royce was founded in 1904.

From our Canal Boat Holiday location in Gayton travel through the Warwickshire Countryside on The Grand Union Canal.

Visit The Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon which is home to the worlds greatest collection of British cars.

Discover the history of British motoring with the museums collection of over 180 cars and see the story unfold from some of the very first cars to take to British roads right up to the latest designs.
