Fishermen got the shock of their lives when a huge Mako shark landed in the back of their
boat whist they were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. They were cathing red snapper about 50 miles out to sea in the early hours of Monday morning when they heard two big splashes. Then all of a sudden something hit the side of the boat and they discovered it was a 8 foot long Mako Shark.
The Mako shark was thrashing around so badly that the fishermen could not put it back in the water and it died a few hours later. The creature is currently on display in Freeport and the fisherman said I am going to get a mount of it a 400lb fish jumping on your boat is unbelievable.
A perfect choice of holiday for you if you love fishing is a Canal Boat Holiday. What better way to spend the day than stepping off your Canal Boat straight onto the canal bank to fish. You will not need to carry your equipment along the tow path or travel any great distance just moor up and away you go. You will need a rod licence and these can be purchased from any local Post Office or from the environment agency. Look out for the signs as sometimes fishing is prohibited as the rights are owner by local fishing clubs. The close season on British rivers is between 15th March and 15th June but you can fish on canals at any time. |
