Poohsticks was a game played by Winnie the Pooh and his friends and was brought to life by A A Milne in his book The House at Pooh Corner. It is a simple game, especially for a bear with very little brain, played on a bridge with sticks. The World Poohsticks Championships were held this year on 27th March on the River Thames. The location for this annual event is at Days Lock just north east of the beautiful village of Little Wittenham in the heart of Midsomer Murders territory. The event was started in 1983 by Lynn David the former lock keeper as a fund raising event for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
