Manchester International Festival is being held in the city from 30th June to 17th July 2011. The Festival was launched in 2007 and features new works from across the spectrum of performing arts. A very special event to take place at this years festival is a brand new Dr Who adventure in which the children only have one hour to save the world. The music acts are varied and the artists due to preform include Snoop Dogg and Rickie Lee Jones. Johnny Vegas returns to Manchester International Festival with a new theatre show in the Pavilion Theatre on Albert Square and Victoria Wood will be directing a play. Festival Square which is situated directly in front of the town hall on Albert Square will be the heart of the festival and is open every day from noon until late.
