Northamptonshire canal boat holidays17-03-2010 : Canal boat holidays in Northamptonshire: Museum to change direction |
Those planning canal boat holidays in northamptonshire have been told that the national waterways museum in stoke bruerne is to go back to its old name, in response to demand from visitors. The attraction will revert back to the name of the canal museum after people said they to know more about the specific history of the stoke bruerne area, rather than the uk's entire canal network, the northampton chronicle reports.
Justine lee, spokesperson for the waterways trust, told the paper: 'we've been looking at our future direction for a while now and it's become very clear people want to know about the waterways around them when they visit a local museum, they want that local story, that's why we're moving along that route. 'she went on to say that in future, the museum will move further towards providing a local story rather than a national one.
People on canal boat holidays in northamptonshire may also be attracted to the oundle festival of literature, which runs until march 20th. |
