Shropshire canal boat holidays29-12-2009 : Canal boat holidays 'could take in the traditional Ludlow Hunt' |
Country sports enthusiasts on canal boat holidays in shropshire turned out in force for the boxing day hunts this year, it has been reported. The ludlow hunt saw numerous fans turn out in support of the traditional event, although the weather meant that many had to turn out on foot, the shropshire star has revealed.
Sarah mclane, the joint master of the south shropshire hunt, says that there was a very positive response to the annual gathering. 'the ground was too hard - supporters were on foot - but we still carried on and got the support, which was fantastic,' she tells the news provider.
In total, thousands of hunters turned up from across the county, which could make next year's event one to put down on the calendar for those planning canal boat holidays in shropshire. The countryside alliance has claimed that the shows of support given to these events should be a signal for the government to scrap the hunting act.
