A number of repairs have been completed on a major uk waterway, which could interest those on canal boat holidays in shropshire. The operation was conducted on a crossroads along the canal and involved work being done to one of the area's old lock gates.
One of the central points on the uk's waterway network, frankton locks is now sporting two new sets of gates. Those on canal boat holidays in shropshire will be able to travel along the junction of the llangollen and montgomery canals with ease as a result of the changes, the shropshire star has claimed.
Refurbishment work has also been completed on two other pairs of gates at frankton locks. In other news, volunteers with the waterway recovery group have been working to try and keep waterways in great condition for those on canal boat holidays.
A team recently cleared the wheeldon mill lock on the chesterfield canal, waterscape reported. |
