People of all ages can enjoy staffordshire canal boat holidays this summer, british waterways has revealed. The organisation has launched a new campaign to highlight the benefits of taking a canal boat break over the coming months, with its attentions focused on this particular part of the country.
Many of the canal activities are free of charge, meaning people do not have to break the bank to have a great time with their family and friends. Waterway manager darren green commented: 'whether it's enjoying a walk along the caldon canal through stoke-on-trent's picturesque hanley park or discovering the leisure opportunities and wildlife of westport lake or rudyard lake, there is something for everyone.
'he added that more than half of britons live within five miles of a canal or river, so there is simply no excuse for not getting involved. it was recently revealed that a new community engagement post had been created at british waterways to encourage more volunteers to help maintain uk canals.
