13-07-2010 : Liverpool to host Boat Show for 10 more years
An agreement has been made between british waterways, albert dock liverpool and marine industry events to ensure the city hosts the boat show for the next ten years. Next year's event is scheduled to take place between april 29th and may 8th, which is set to be bigger and better than ever before.
Floating islands are being set up so multi-million pound vessels can be showcased, while regeneration projects are also scheduled to take place along the waterfront. Julie sharman, head of regeneration north for british waterways, said: 'albert dock is an excellent venue for national events and it's great to be able to contribute towards the continued success of an area which has become a shining example of regeneration excellence.
'she added that the event looks set to be a great success next year and one the city is proud to be a part of. Figures from british waterways recently showed 13 million adults visited the uk's canals and towpaths last year.
