UK Canal boat holidays24-05-2010 : UK canal boat holidays: Visit Robin Hood locations |
Tourist attractions featuring in the new robin hood film are likely to prove popular with people on uk canal boat holidays, a tourism expert believes. Spokesperson for visitbritain mark di-toro said although nottingham does not really feature in the film, it is set to benefit nonetheless.
Mr di-toro continued: 'our research shows that 40 per cent of people who watch a film are more likely to visit that location of the film. for example, in robin hood they go to nottingham.
'other places used in the movie, including the pembrokeshire coast in wales, beachy head and the midlands, will also see an increase in tourists, he predicted. Visitbritain recommends ye olde jerusalem pub, one of the oldest pubs in britain, archery in the sherwood forest and the alnwick garden treehouse among its top ten robin hood experiences.
It also suggested going to medieval banquets at peckforton castle for a real taste of the past. |
