Warwickshire canal boat holidays16-08-2010 : Enjoy Kenilworth Castle on canal boat holidays in Warwickshire |
Canal boat holidays in warwickshire will be somewhat out of the ordinary this bank holiday as one attraction holds a two-day event. Kenilworth castle has 600 years of history to boast and will be doing just that at the end of the month.
English heritage's regional events manager tom course believes one of the main highlights of the festivities will be the presence of replica tudor guns, one of which is unique. 'using real gunpowder, the authentic sound of these cannons firing is one that resounded around battlefields for the next 500 years,' he enthused.
There will also be characters dressed up as people from times gone by, showcasing what it was like to live in the different eras seen at the historical attraction. Another must-see at kenilworth castle is its elizabethan garden, which has been in existence for more than 400 years and was reopened to the public in may last year.
