An overhead power cable has fallen and settled over the adjacent Freemans Meadow Weir and part of the watercourse of the Leicester Line of the Grand Union Canal between these locations. The power cable is not a danger to the public or the environment and is planned for retrieval on 22nd September, between 10am and 2pm. The cable will be lifted upwards and re-attached to the adjacent towers. The navigable channel will not be affected and banksmen will be on site to ensure the operation is carried out safely. Canal Boaters and craft users are asked to be mindful of the cable when passing through the site and to steer clear of it at all times.
