Northamptonshire canal boat holidays

The Blisworth Canal Festival is being held on The Grand Union Canal in Northamptonshire over this coming weekend, 11th to 12th August 2012.

There will be a host of family attractions including guided heritage walks and boat rides through the Blisworth Tunnel.

There will be trade stands and trade boats which will include the Cheese Boat, selling cheeses, pickles and chutneys and The Fudge Boat for those of you with a sweet tooth.

The Blisworth Heritage Society will be leading free guided walks and you can take a look at an exhibition of 19th century Blisworth.

A Master Blacksmith will be demonstrating his skills in the courtyard of Blisworth House and you will be able to buy some of his stunning pieces.

If you have ever wanted to have a go at bell ringing then a mobile bell tower will be erected in the front of Blisworth Parish Church.

You can enjoy the fun of the Blisworth Canal Festival and explore the Grand Union Canal on a Canal Boat Holiday booked from Union Wharf.

Whilst on your Canal Boat Holiday navigate your way through the Blisworth Tunnel which at 3076 yards long is one of the longest in Britain.

Explore the pretty canal side village of Blisworth set in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.

The village has two pubs and shops so is an ideal place to moor a while when on your Canal Boat Holiday on The Grand Union Canal.
