The Gala begins on Friday 14th June with a bar and live music in the evening then over the course of the weekend the festivities take place by the Canal Museum.

Go along and take a boat trip through the Blisworth Tunnel, look at the historic boats, take part in the children's entertainment, canal craft demonstrations.

This year is a special occasion, being fifty years since since the Canal Museum opened to the public in Stoke Bruerne.

Housed in a restored corn mill the National Waterways Museum provides a great day out for families and canal enthusiasts.

The Canal Museum is at the heart of the beautiful village of Stoke Bruerne on the Grand Union Canal and is a treasure trove of stories, displays, films and collections all about our waterways.

The wide range of exhibits and audio commentary give visitors a brilliant understanding to the rich waterway heritage of Stoke Bruerne and the Grand Union Canal.

The children can dress in traditional canal costume and learn about the history of the canal system.

Shop for souvenirs in the gift shop, take a picnic lunch in the grounds or stay a while in the Waterside Cafe.

Whilst exploring the area on your Canal Boat Holiday visit Blisworth which is just a short distance away from the Canal Museum.

Take a woodland walk or a stroll south down a flight of seven locks where you will find the wildlife reserve in the former brickworks.
