23-05-2012 : AUDLEM MUSIC FESTIVAL

If you happen to be cruising the Shropshire Union Canal on your Canal Boat Holiday next week pop along and join in the celebrations at the Audlem Festival.

This years Audlem Music Festival will be held from the 31st May to 5th June and the line up includes The Travelling Band, Jim Kirkpatrick, Elly Kingdon, The Reads, Twin Frets, Emma Pursehouse and Sarah Miller.

The carnival like atmosphere at the festival makes it a great day out for the whole family.

Also in attendance will be musicians, poets and actors and there will be a number of trade stalls including the Cheese Boat, which sells cheeses, pickles and chutney.

The Audlem Festival began in 2000 as an idea by then resident Paul Moran.

The Shropshire Village of Audlem is a short walk away on the Shropshire Union Canal.

You can cruise the Shropshire Union Canal on a Canal Boat Holiday from our base at Blackwater Meadow.

The Shropshire Union is affectionately know as the Shroppie and whilst on a Canal Boat Holiday on the canal visit the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port.

A pleasant walk from the canal bank leads you to the centre of Nantwich where you can visit The Nantwich Canal Centre which offers Canal Boat visitors a mooring as well as a cafe and Restaurant.

Enjoy the wonderful market town of Market Drayton, where markets have been held for over 750 years, whilst on your Canal Boat Holiday.
