Father's Day is a celebrated in the UK on the third Sunday in June and this year it falls on Sunday 17th June.

Fathers Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves the giving of cards or gifts, special dinners and family get togethers.

In the days and weeks before the children make or buy cards or gifts for their fathers.

Some families celebrate Father's Day by planning a day out or a weekend trip on a Canal Boat.

Other popular Father's Day experiences include driving a fire engine, rally car, taking a golf, football or cricket lesson with a celebrity coach.

The first actual recorded Fathers Day took place on 5th July 1908 in the USA in Fairmont.

It was organized by Mrs Grace Golden Clayton who wanted to celebrate the lives of the 210 fathers who had been lost in the Monongah Mining disaster.

Why not treat your father this year and book a Canal Boat Holiday.

A Canal Boat Holiday is ideal and something a little bit different, for those special for occasions such as Fathers Day and landmark birthdays or are ideal for groups of friends who want to be reunited.
