British Waterways need your help between now and September and they are asking the public to take part in a Wildlife Survey.

They want to know about the wildlife you see on your the canals, rivers, docks or reservoirs.

Each recorded sighting helps British Waterways ecologists to monitor, protect and preserve the amazing biodiversity found on our waterways.

The survey is open to everyone and you can enter as many times as you like.

So whether you are a seasoned otter spotter or a nature novice your contribution will be a huge help just go to www.

Com/ws and fill out the form.

The 2010 survey results showed that kingfishers, newts, toads and otters had all been spotted in record numbers on Britains waterways.

Your very own Nature watch will reveal itself on your Canal Boat Holiday when every day the canal and surrounding areas spring into life.

All of us are familiar with the ducks and swans but imagine the excitement of spotting a heron or spot a flash of blue as a kingfisher dart by.

The canals are easily accessible and free to explore and they are the ideal destination for nature lovers.

As you gentle cruise along the canals on your Canal Boat Holiday you will get back to nature and have a chance to see the wildlife close up.

The towpath is home to a huge variety of birds and animals and many rare species thrive in the safe haven that the canal bank provides.
