Ten drawings by Leonardo da Vinci are being loaned to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery by the Royal Collection which is owned by the Queen.

The drawings will go on show at the citys museum to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

They have been chosen to show the range of Leonardo da Vinci techniques and interests such as botany, engineering and map making.

The exhibition of the ten drawings will help to mark 60 years of the Queens reign and will be held in between 13 January and 25 March 2012.

There are a host of heritage attractions, art galleries and museums to visit and a Canal Boat Holiday gives you and your family an opportunity to visit them.

Many of the museums have free entry so you really do not need to spend a fortune to have a good time.

On your Canal Boat Holiday you choose your own itinerary you stop when you want to stop and go when you want to go.

The difficulty will be where to stop do you choose an art gallery, a museum or a city such as Birmingham which is full of culture.

Do you visit an ancient castle or monument or a state of the art science museum.

Places you would normally rush by or even not notice are there to be discovered on a Canal Boat Holiday so take time and enjoy some of Britains museums and art galleries.
