05-01-2013 : RIVER ALLEN BEING RESTORED

Water voles and rare crayfish are amongst the species that will benefit from a fund to restore a chalk stream in Dorset.

The work will include restoring the natural flow of the river by planting small trees along the bank.

The River Allen Project, a community partnership led by Dorset Wildlife Trust will carry out the project and have said that the work would provide more cover for crayfish to hide and vegetation for water voles to feed on.
