09-06-2011 : SHREK AND PRICESS FIONA MEET PRINCE CHARLES

Prince Charles has rencently met the stars of the West End show Shrek the Musical at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane in London.

The stars of the show include Britains Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who plays the fiery Princess Fiona, and Nigel Lindsay, who is in the lead role of the ogre Shrek.

Nigel Lindsay told the Prince he spends nearly an hour and a half in make up every night creating his green and tubby appearance he said that the huge padded outfit which he wears on stage every night makes him extremely hot.

Prince Charles confessed to Amanda Holden that he had not yet seen the Oscar winning film Shrek.

Many of our best loved theatres are close to the canals and a Canal Boat Holiday is a perfect excuse to treat yourself to a performance.

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is a large national theatre owned by the Royal Shakespeare Company and is probably the most famous classical theatre company in the world.

Based in Stratford upon Avon it is easily reached from our base at Alvechurch.

The Mikron Theatre Group even comes to you on your Canal Boat Holiday as they tour on their Canal Boat Tyseley taking the exciting world of the theatre to venues all along the canal system.

The Bristol Hippodrome can be visited from our Canal Boat Holiday resort at Hilperton and during June and July they are hosting Footloose.
