Jae Jae a rare Sumatran tiger has travelled nearly 4,000 miles from Ohio to meet his new mate, Melati, at London Zoo.

Keepers at the zoo hope Jae Jae will breed with Melati, a female from Australia, to help save the critically endangered species.

Sumatran tigers are among the most endangered species in the world with only around 300 left in the wild.

You can visit London Zoo and meet the tigers on a Canal Boat Holiday booked from Aldermaston Marina.

From Aldermaston you can cruise the Kennet And Avon Canal and River Thames straight into the heart of London.

There are also many other Canal Boat Holiday locations to choose from and if you love visiting safari parks and zoos then this is a perfect choice of vacation for you.

From our Canal Boat Holiday base at Hilperton on the Kennet And Avon Canal visit Bristol Zoo and gardens.

To get up close to the sharks and turtles go to The Sealife Centre near to Gas Street Basin in Birmingham.

This can easily be reached in a few hours from our Canal Boat Holiday resort in Alvechurch.

Drayton Manor is not only brilliant for its theme park but there is also a Zoo there visit both whilst you are on your Canal Boat Holiday cruising the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal.

Our resort at Anderton is a perfect place to start your Canal Boat Holiday if you want to visit the Zoo in Chester or the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port.
