The recent opening of a spectacular new drive through African lion exhibit marks the 40th Anniversary.

The Park came into being on 17th April 1973 and was officially opened by Sophia Loren.

The entertainment was limited during those early days, but visitors flocked to this new attraction,to see the lions and the chimpanzees.

Nowadays the the Park holds many species that are endangered in the wild and are included in over 20 breeding programmes including giraffes white and Indian rhino.

From our Canal Boat Holiday base at Hliperton on the Kennet And Avon Canal visit Bristol Zoo and enjoy an amazing world of animals.

To get up close to the sharks and turtles go to The Sealife Centre near to Gas Street Basin in Birmingham.
