24-05-2012 : WORLDS FIRST SKYDIVE WITHOUT PARACHUTE

Stuntman Gary Connery is thought to have become the first person to jump out of a helicopter and land safely without deploying a parachute.

Gary 42 used a wingsuit to make his descent from 2,400 feet above Oxfordshire and landed on a pile of 18,600 cardboard boxes.

During the flight, which took less than a minute to complete, he was fitted with a parachute for the jump, which saw him accelerate to 80mph, but it was not deployed.

Mr Connery has worked as a stuntman on films including Die Another Day, Batman Begins and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Your Canal Boat Holiday will not include anything as dangerous as an actual sky dive but if you visit Milton Keynes you can spend a day at Airkix.

This indoor location gives you the thrill of skydiving.

For adrenalin junkies then book a Canal Boat Holiday from Alvechruch and visit the snowdome in Tamworth on the Coventry Canal.

The Snowdome is a fun packed family attraction where you can learn to ski or toboggan on real snow on the impressive 170 metre slope.

One of the slowest white knuckle rides in the country has got to be a journey over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal.

Book a Canal Boat Holiday from Blackwater Meadow and navigate your way across this magnificent structure which spans the Dee Valley for a 1000 feet.

Built by Thomas Telford and William Jessop and opened in 1805 at a 125 feet high and crossing over in a Canal Boat is like being suspended in mid air.

Visit Alton Towers and take a take a ride on Nemesis which reaches G forces greater than a space shuttle launch.

Cruise the four counties ring on your Canal Boat Holiday and you will will pass close to Alton Towers in Staffordshire.
