11-09-2013 : DROITWICH SALT DAY

Book a Canal Boat Holiday from Worcester Marina and cruise the Mid Worcestershire Ring to Droitwich and join in with their Salt Day celebrations.

Salt Day celebrates the towns historic association with salt and this years annual event will be held in the town this weekend.

The event has something to offer everyone and highlights this year include a heritage displays, Roman Army camp and re-enactment.

There will also be a wide range of attractions for the whole family including live music, a real ale bar, community stalls, farmers market, art exhibition, dog show, children's entertainment.

Whilst your in the area cruising the Droitwich Canals visit Hanbury Hall a beautiful William and Mary style house owned by The National Trust.

It is well worth mooring up for a few hours to browse around the Jinney Ring Craft Centre which is home to a collection of 200 year old barns which have been converted into a number of craft studios.

Take afternoon tea at the Chateau Impney which was built by John Corbett, a local Salt Barron in 1875.

If it looks familiar it is because for many years the nightly Soap Crossroads used the entrance area as a set.
