The Napton and return is an ideal canal boat holidays cruising route for you to explore.

Napton and return holiday cruising route.

This is a recommended canal boat holidays route.

From Gayton:

Cruise north along the Grand Union Canal through charming villages through the Braunston Tunnel to the historic wharf at Braunston.

From Union Wharf:

Cruise to Braunston, which is a must for Canal enthusiasts, with its hustle and bustle of canal traffic, boat builders and restorers.

A tranquil rural route through rolling Leicestershire and Northamptonshire countryside. The 4-lock staircase flight at the pretty village of Watford and the two 5-lock staircases at Foxton both have lock keepers to hand.

There is also a manually operated swing bridge at Foxton. This lovely rural route does not pass any towns, only very pretty country villages, and of course the Village Pubs!
